Service Costs

A contribution towards the cost of the service will be negotiated with each individual/family. In general, individuals will be asked to contribute $15 per week towards their service. No one will be denied access because of their inability to pay. The local community options provider will negotiate this contribution at the beginning of the service.

The average total cost of each package of support has been capped at $1,500.  The cost will be met by the Can Assist local Branches and generous support from our corporate and other supporters. The NSW Community Options Programs will provide their local expertise and case management service as part of this total cost. Each Viva Pack will provide:

  • up to 18 hours of direct support
  • mutual support program linking people in the local area who are living with cancer
  • service coordination
  • development and program management
It is important to note that if a person changes over, during the course of the Viva Pack, to an existing local service, contributions for these services may apply. Where a client is unable to pay the usual fee for a service, the role of the case manager in these circumstances could include negotiating a reduction or waiver of any fee due.
